How To: Connect your Wi-Fi Booster and Ethanet RouterUpdated 3 years ago

If you haven't setup your main Ethanet Router yet please follow the instructions in the "How To: Set up your Ethanet Router" here

Connecting boosters from a Dual or Triple Pack

If you received your boosters at the same time as your Ethanet Router the best way to setup the boosters is to place each one about half way between the Ethanet Router and the furthest edge of the house (to ensure the best coverage and speed) and plug it into power. It should boot up and connect back to your Ethanet Router automatically.

Adding a booster to an existing Ethanet Router

If you have ordered the booster separately (or if the boosters don't automatically connect), place the booster half way between your Ethanet Router and the furthest edge of the house (to ensure the best coverage and speed) and plug it into power. Wait a few minutes for it to power up with the light on the front pulsing blue, then open up the Deco app on your mobile phone, login to your TP Link Account (if required), and on the app screen tap the plus sign in the circle in the top right corner. Select Deco, choose the X55 from the next screen, and then follow the instructions on screen to connect your booster.

Troubleshooting

If you connect a booster to power but it gets stuck on a red light that doesn't progress to a pulsing blue light, you can reset the device by inserting a thin object into the small black hole in the base of the unit where the word 'RESET' is shown. Hold the button down for approx. 30 seconds until you see the pulsing yellow light turn off. The device will then restart with normal operation.
